Our commitment
Florida Legal Title is committed to making floridalegaltitle.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology.
Buying, selling, and closing on property is important. Access to information about that process should not depend on how you use a computer.
Standard we work toward
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most widely used to evaluate whether a website is accessible.
Current conformance status: partially conformant. Partially conformant means some parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard. We are working on the gaps described below.
What we have done
Each item below has been checked against this site:
- Semantic HTML structure with a logical heading order on every page
- Landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer) on every page
- Descriptive alternative text for every image that conveys information
- Keyboard access to all interactive elements, including the services menu and the FAQ accordions
- A visible focus indicator on every interactive element, and a “skip to content” link that becomes visible when focused
- Descriptive link and button text rather than “click here”
- Images carry their intrinsic dimensions so the page does not shift as it loads
Known limitations
We want to be straightforward about where the site falls short:
- Color contrast. Some smaller and lighter text on this site does not yet meet the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast minimum of 4.5:1. This affects section labels, some secondary body text, and white text on our accent color. We have measured these and are working through them. If any text is hard to read, call us and we will give you the same information by phone.
- Forms. This site does not currently include web forms. When we add them, they will have associated labels and errors announced by assistive technology, and this statement will be updated.
- Assistive technology testing. We have not yet completed formal testing with screen reader and browser combinations. Our checks to date have been structural and keyboard-based.
- Zoom and reflow. The site is built to reflow on small screens, but we have not formally verified readability at 200 percent zoom.
- PDF documents. Some documents available for download may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Contact us and we will provide the content in an accessible format.
- Third-party tools. Features provided by outside vendors, including [scheduling, e-signature, and payment tools], are outside our direct control. We raise accessibility issues with those vendors and will help you complete any of those steps by phone or in person.
